From Basics to Confidence: Neonatal & Paediatric ECG

This is a remote delivered ECG Course (Zoom) dealing with the challenges in our day to day clinical practice. The focus is on practical management of ECG abnormalities in neonates, children & young people in primary and secondary care. The faculty will go through real life cases and Paediatric Cardiologists will explain more complex situations. Our course includes a 3 month access to the recorded presentations, which can be viewed and CPD certificate claimed (for those unable to attend on 10th July)

Learning outcomes

  • This is a clinical and problem-oriented ECG & Arrhythmia course.
  • Participants will refresh reporting of normal ECG in neonates and children (pre-course reading) – the course as such will focus on ECG beyond the basics.
  • Participants will achieve an understanding of the recognition and management of SVT, VT, ectopics and heart blocks.
  • Participants will update on investigations in the context of suspected cardiomyopathies and congenital heart disease.
  • Participants will be able to recognise and manage a range of abnormal ECGs including Long QT and medication use.
  • Participants will revise the ECG diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension, pericarditis, myocarditis, electrolyte disturbances etc
