This is a Basic Plus remote-delivered course that will benefit neonatal consultants & trainees, paediatricians with neonatal interest and critical care doctors and advanced nurse practitioners, and researchers who have commenced or intend to commence performing echocardiograms on neonates. The course aims to deliver remotely the essential theoretical knowledge and helpful tips to imaging in neonatal practice.

Objectives

  • Participants will be introduced to early diagnosis of congenital heart disease.
  • Participants will revise the normal and abnormal neonatal ECG.
  • Participants will achieve an understanding of echo imaging of neonates.
  • Participants will familiarise of functional echo assessment in sick neonates.
  • Participants will understand critical neonatal heart defects and their diagnosis.
  • Participants will learn about the diagnosis and management of PDA and PPHN.
  • Participants will develop understanding and knowledge around use of POCUS in emergencies.
