Point of Care Ultrasound – Lungs, Lines, Abdomen and Heart
This is a basic plus course that will benefit Paediatric and Neonatal consultants & trainees, and
advanced nurse practitioners, and researchers in the diagnostic use of ultrasound as per POCUS guidance. The Course aims to deliver the essential theoretical knowledge and practical experience with helpful tips relevant to POCUS.
The course involves all day scanning and includes access to view 6 hours of pre-course reading material, which all delegates need to complete before attending. Access to reading materials and over 15 pre-recorded lectures will remain active for a period of 3 months after the course and you will receive an additional CPD certificate

Aims & Objectives
- Participants will be introduced to the use of bedside ultrasound.
- Participants will develop understanding and knowledge around use of POCUS in emergencies
- Participants will understand the principles of POCUS use with lines, lungs, abdomen and heart.
- Participants will familiarise functional echo assessment in sick neonates.
- Participants will have hands on exposure to US lungs, abdomen, heart and peripheral cannulation.
